Tony Fisk stepping down from Harper Collins NZ


HarperCollinsAnnounces:
Aftera 40 year career in publishing both in New Zealand and the UK, Tony Fisk hasannounced that he will step down from the role of Managing Director ofHarperCollins NZ in April.
 MichaelMoynahan CEO HarperCollins ANZ said, “There are so very few occasions when a company is able to acknowledge such asignificant and long standing contribution as that which Tony Fisk has made onbehalf of HarperCollins.  For many years, Tony Fisk and HarperCollins NewZealand have been synonymous and the way he has guided this business through anenormous amount of change is a tribute to his capacity as both a manager and apublisher.  HarperCollins New Zealand will measure the loss of Tony’sguidance and our industry has greatly benefited from his energy and creativityover the years.  I want to take this moment to personally thank Tony andwish him the very best for what the future holds.
 TonyFisk said, “I feel very blessed to have had a wonderful career in publishingspanning 40 years – 39 of them with the same company. During my time I have metand worked with some wonderful people – colleagues, authors and booksellers andhave made many dear friends. Obviously our industry is going through hugechange but I really feel extremely positive about its future. The thrill ofsuccessfully connecting the creative talent of authors with readers issomething that is very special and I don’t feel will ever diminish”
 Tonyand his wife, Pat, intend to relocate to the UK to spend time exploring theirhomeland.

HarperCollinsPublishers is pleased to announce Graham Mitchell, Financial Controller,HarperCollins New Zealand, has been promoted to the role of General Manager ofHarperCollins New Zealand. 

Grahamworked for HarperCollins UK in London from 1996 to the end of 2001. Heemigrated to New Zealand and joined HarperCollins NZ in April 2002.  CEO, Michael Moynahan, said “Graeme has worked alongside Tony Fiskfor many years as Financial Controller and has brought to that role a range ofbusiness and managerial skills that will stand the company in good stead as itembarks on future developments.    HarperCollinsNew Zealand is a creative and energetic business which prides itself on itspublishing excellence and its responsibility to its authors, customers and theindustry and I have no doubt that the appointment will reinforce the commitmentwe have to publishing in New Zealand.”
