The Paris Cookbook Fair’s opening day on March 7 will seethe release of a fundraising charity cookbook for Christchurch earthquakevictims, reports Gourmand Magazine’s February edition.
Susan van Schreven of Orphans Aid International – an NZcharitable trust – was the prime mover behind Paris Cookbook Fair: Chef’sCharity Cookbook. At last year’s fair, shortly after the February 22 quake, sheenlisted chefs and food authors to help with the project. The result has morethan 30 recipes over 120 pages and many previously unreleased pictures of the2011 Paris Fair. Gourmand calls it a ‘unique treasure for every cookbooklover’.
The book is published in Germany by Kornmayer to mark theyear New Zealand will be Guest of Honour at Frankfurt Book Fair, “as part ofthe bridge built with books between New Zealand and the world.”
