The Devonport Library Associates warmly invite you to an eveningwith Whiti Hereaka, prize-winning scriptwriter, dramatist, and successfulnovelist. Whiti will talk about her views on the craft of writing scripts andplays.
Whiti is the current writer-in-residence at the Michael King Writers'Centre. She holds the eight-week Summer Residency at the centre, where she ishard at work on her next play, which is about about making rewena. In theplay she plans to explore the idea of hospitality, of Maori and Pakeha“breaking bread” and how breadmaking is a part of colonial history that hasbeen embraced by Maoridom.
This is a free event and all are welcome.
